How Does It Work?

This feature has been designed to seamlessly integrate with WhatsApp Business, and it is fully compatible with any WhatsApp Business account. It can be connected to a generic WhatsApp number for your business or to individual team profiles. Whether you want the widget to represent your whole team or specific agents, the flexibility is built right in.

When adding or editing a team member in the CMS, you'll see a section titled - "Social Media and Other Custom URL's" - and within the "Type" menu, you'll just need to select the "WhatsApp" option and enter the URL in a specific format. 

How to create the URL:

1. Use the base URL - https://wa.me/ 

2. Add your phone number - Include your complete phone number in international format (without any plus signs, brackets, or dashes) after the / so for example, you might end up with - https://wa.me/447764000000.



Don’t have a WhatsApp Business number?

To get a WhatsApp Business number though, it's actually pretty easy and cost-effective. 

You could use 'Your Business Number' (click here) to create a virtual number and costs around £6 per month. 

We’d recommend using a designated provider like Agent Connect though (there are others out there too!) because as part of the service, you’d get a dashboard enabling you to manage / access all chats that are going on and of course, your whole team would also, have access. It just makes things a lot easier.

Nope. While we developed it with Luke St Clair at Agent Connect, it’s flexible enough to work with any WhatsApp Business number.


❓ Do I need to be using a specific CRM like Street or Apex27?
Not at all. The widget works independently of your CRM. That said, if you are using Agent Connect, it will slot in even more seamlessly.


❓ Is there an extra cost for this feature?

❓ What if I don’t use WhatsApp Business yet?
You’ll need a WhatsApp Business number to connect. If you need help setting one up, we’re happy to guide you through the process.


❓ Can I turn the widget on or off at specific times?
Yes – we can set the widget to only display during office hours, or keep it on 24/7. Your call!


❓ What if I already use another live chat provider?
Firstly, you don’t have to feel obligated to use our widget. It’s optional and you can add it anytime. 

Because we can apply specific times to when our widget is displayed, you could have it shown between office hours 9-5 and then your live chat suppliers widget at all other times.
