Why MarkUp?

Over the years, we have tried different methods to collect feedback from our clients whilst reviewing their new website. It takes time for you to go through the site, and then not only leave feedback but and to also reference exactly where the changes are needed.

The great thing about MarkUp is that you can view your site whilst reviewing for feedback, and let us know exactly what element of the site you are referencing for your comments.

You would have received an email from us briefly explaining the fundamentals of using the tool. This article will likely reiterate some of those points, whilst also providing more information to consider.

Getting started

Once you receive an email updating you on the 1st draft of your new website being ready, there will be a link to your website and login details. After clicking the link, you can begin browsing through all of the pages using the 'Browse' tab at the top of the page (see example below), to go through all pages of the site.

Leaving feedback

You can either browse the whole site first or browse page by page whilst leaving comments. When ready to leave feedback, first click the 'Comment' tab at the top of the page and simply click on any element within the site to leave a comment.

(make sure the 'Comment' tab is on)

(click to comment and 'Post' to leave your comment)

When you've finished leaving feedback

Once you are happy with the feedback comments left throughout the site, please let us know by clicking the 'Let the team know you have finished reviewing' toggle at the bottom of the 'Comment' side panel. We will then be notified to review the feedback and begin working through it.

If, for any reason, there is feedback that we can't work on, we will leave a reply to the comment and also follow up in an email giving the reason, and notify you of what we have worked on.

You can track our progress as we update and check off the comments once they have been amended. You will also be notified of any replies we have made.

When you can expect all the amendments to be finalised

Depending on the amount of feedback left on MarkUp, it could take from 1 to 2 weeks for us to complete all feedback. We will keep you informed at every stage of our progress.

Important notes to consider

  • Firewall/VPN- If you have a firewall or VPN on your browser, you may not access the site. This would need to be temporarily removed when viewing the site.

  • Changes to the template - If you have a template site and want to make structural changes, there may be some changes that we are unable to make as they would take the project out of scope. We would suggest leaving a comment, and we can then review and give a response on whether some changes are possible.
