When we’re in a position to set your website project live, we’ll need to update your domain DNS.
You’re welcome to do this yourself or have a 3rd party – usually an IT company – do it for you. This is perfectly fine. We’d just need to schedule a specific date / time to implement the update as we need to activate the SSL (Secure) Certificate immediately after so it’s important we get our timings spot-on.
Ideally though, we prefer handling the DNS update ourselves if possible. The reason is simple – we can then launch the project as soon as we’re ready (i.e. done with any last-minute prep work etc).
If your looking to carry out the DNS update yourself, the following are links to resources that might help across various domain providers:
- 123reg
- Go Daddy. If you’d like us to update the DNS for you via Go Daddy, just invite us as a temporary user. You can review how to do this here. During the process, it will ask which email address you want to invite. Always use - accounts@estateapps.co.uk.
- IONUS (formally 1&1)
- EasySpace
- Network Solutions
- Fasthosts
- LCN
It’s just the @ root record (and "www" if it exists) that will need updating to point to - 94.237.120.70. If the existing "www" record is a CNAME, ignore it.
Hope this helps!
